Williams there to ask when it wo’d be ready to set out, who found it was simply gone but wo’d stop on the Elephant & castle.
On Monday the 26. I expected my Sister, Nieces & grandaughter Harriett down by the coach, for whom I had taken places earlier than I left town, & accordingly ordered dinner at 5. after i went to cease the coach on the fleece, however was surprized at finding it are available in empty withinside, the coachman saying that nobody got here either to the Belle Sauvage, Golden cross or Elephant & castle at which latter place he waited a very long time. On Tuesd’y morning the 20h. I used to be gratified with the sight of my trunk once more, which had been franked to Newark, & on the Friday after I dined at Mr Becher’s, & on Monday the 26. performed the organ at church for Mr Heathcote & within the evening tried my morning service in D with him, my nieces & Mr Thompson, which Mr Becher meant now having put in rehearsal within the choir, now Mr Heathcote had bought the boys into an improved type of singing. Mary provides her personal account of this go to in a letter dated Monday 1st July 1820 she wrote to her son William, who was staying with Robert Forster Esq., at Southwell.
This account is sort of nonsensical as Newark is barely about 7 miles from Southwell, her household lived in Nottingham and have been properly acquainted with the Williams household, as talked about earlier. In July, John Marsh received a letter from his sister at Southwell, forwarded by his brother Henry, ‘giving a very dangerous account of our brother Will’m who was a lot emaciated, & co’d keep nothing upon his stomach, having for several weeks had no appetite, altho’ within the letter I acquired from him on the 12h. he wrote in pretty good spirits, & seemed to have hopes from a new prescription of Dr Storer’s, of Nottingham, he had then began upon. I took a stroll with my Sister & nieces and many others. to Mr Shepherds grounds close to the East Thorp, & within the afternoon went with them & my brother to a romantic spot called the Dumbles, about 2 miles from Southwell. An outline of the Old Palace is given within the History of Southwell (including an outline of the Collegiate Church) by Richard Phillips Shilton, published in May 1818. It data that ‘This magnificent pile of constructing, noble even in smash, was situated about thirty yards from the south side of the Church.

This church is of an Octagon form has three seats or pews in depth all spherical which go away a really appreciable area within the center crammed with benches for the accommodation of the poor souls who haven’t any pews.
